Find the number of squares of sides 3cm that can be cut from a rectangular cardboard of dimensions 33cm by 27.If each square is decorated with lace on the edges, what will be the cost of lace used? ( 1cm of lace costs $ 0.35)

3 cm of 33 lenght = 33 x 3 = 99 squares could be cut from 3cm piece of a square.Area of the square is 3 cm x 4 sides; formula ( lxb or sides x sides)= 3 x 4 = 12 sq cm99 sqaures x 12 = 1188 sq. cmTherefore, 1188 x $ 0.35 = $ 415.80 is the cost of lace  used.

Refer from diagram:No. of squares = 9 × 11 = 99 (ans, part 1)---Total perimeter of 99 squares = 99 × ( 3 × 4 )= 1188 cmTotal cost of lace = 1188 × 0.35 = $415.80  (ans, part 2)
